5 survival rules every beginner needs
Before you buy anything, from anyone, learn these. They're free. The full course shows you how to apply them.
Your seed phrase is the money. Never share it, never digitise it.
Whoever has your 12 or 24 recovery words controls your funds. No real support team, exchange or wallet will ever ask for them. Write them on paper, store them offline, and never type them into a website, a chat or a "wallet sync" tool.
Check the whole address, then send a test first.
Scammers create look-alike addresses that match the first and last characters of ones you use, then plant them in your history ("address poisoning"). Never copy addresses from your history. Check the middle characters too, and send a small test before any large transfer.
"Send first, get double back" is always a scam.
No legitimate giveaway, celebrity or exchange will ever ask you to send crypto to receive more. Urgency, secrecy and guaranteed returns together are the signature of a scam, every time.
Compare market caps, not prices.
A $0.001 coin isn't cheap and a $50 coin isn't expensive. Price × supply = market cap, and that's the real size. Before believing "this coin will hit $1," multiply $1 by the supply and see if the answer is even possible.
Only invest what you can afford to lose, and never in the same hour as FOMO.
Even the largest coins have fallen 75% or more from their peaks, more than once. Size your positions so a drop like that can't hurt your rent, bills or savings, and treat strong emotion as a signal to pause.
